Michael T. Hood, M.D.
Dr. Michael Hood graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Memphis. Dr. Hood completed his internship and residency in Family Practice at East Tennessee State University – James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Bristol.
Dr. Hood practiced emergency medicine for 30 years, and he was an assistant clinical professor at two medical schools for 15 years. He is one of the founding physicians of Family Practice Center where he has practiced since 1982. Dr. Hood is skilled in making difficult diagnosis, outpatient dermatological surgery, lesion removal, emergency medicine and rheumatology.
Dr. Hood is a Ruritan member and Scout Master who sponsors Cub Scout Troop, Boy Scout Troop, and Female Scouting troop.
Melody Counts, M.D.

Dr. Melody Counts graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in Family Medicine at Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Counts is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
She is originally from Southwest Virginia and has worked previously in Federally Qualified Health Centers, urgent care centers, and with the Virginia Department of Health.
In her free time, Dr. Counts enjoys traveling, going to the theatre, and spending time with her family and pets.
Jennifer Eisenhower, F.N.P.
Jennifer Eisenhower graduated from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and continued there for her Master of Science in Nursing. Jennifer is licensed with the State of Tennessee as an Advanced Practice Nurse and Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is also a certified National DOT examiner.
In her free time, Jennifer volunteers with Relay for Life and enjoys life on the lake.
Amy Pitts, F.N.P.
Amy Pitts was raised in Newport, TN and is excited to offer healthcare services to her community as a board certified family nurse practitioner. She graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing from Carson-Newman University where she received the Contribution to Nursing Science Award. Amy has been involved in nursing for six years with recent experience in critical care at our local hospital. Amy's goal is to partner with you in creating a plan to optimize your health and wellbeing. Amy feels she has "come home" to the Family Practice Center and will continue their tradition of offering thoughtful care to you and your family.
Becky Boyd, F.N.P.-C.
Becky Boyd is a graduate from Chamberlain University. She has 32 years experience in the medical field with specialization in Family Medicine.Becky will be located in the White Pine facility.
